IMEI #

I believe all of us have received emails about how we should know our mobile phone IMEI number. I have actually received that email on numerous occasions.

What happened was...recently I lost my mobile phone. So it came to my mind that I could prevent the person who got my phone from using it. So I search high and low for my mobile phone box for the IMEI number. Nope...I didn't jot it down or anything. Then I contacted my mobile operator saying that I would like to block my phone from being used and I have my IMEI number in hand.

And what does the customer service officer told? "I'm sorry, but this service is currently not available in Malaysia." What the....

I was speechless...so whatever you get in your email pertaining to such stuff, it might not work in available in Malaysia cause we're so behind in services.

Sigh...there goes my beloved phone. :(

sorry to hear about your phone. I know about that IMEI thing but I can't really be bothered about that. I' m just very careful with my phone. Phones can be replaced but some content cannot... >.< I do a backup of the messages and contacts to my computer every month. I hope that you had a backup.
